Airbrushing with Water: The Beginner’s Ultimate Guide to Magic Practice Cloth (part 9 of 15)

A Fun and Friendly How-To Booklet for Aspiring Airbrush Artists (Part 9 of 15)

Chapter 8: Practicing the Basics—Strokes and Control

Let’s get comfortable with the most important skill: controlling how much water you use and where your airbrush sprays.

  • Double-Action Airbrush: Start each line by pressing down for air, then gently pulling back for more water. If you want a light line, pull back just a little. For a dark, thick line, pull back more.
  • Trigger Style Airbrush: Start a line by gently pulling back the trigger for air, then add more pull for water. Practice starting and stopping the spray so you can make lines of different darkness and thickness.

Try making lines, dots, curves, and loops. Practice going slow and fast. Imagine you’re drawing with an invisible marker!
